I bought the T56 to program the OKI16911G but writing doesn't work, if I write 0xFD during verify it reads 0xFF. I tried a TS59C11 which is OKI16911/AT59C11 compatible but with the same result. I'm using Xgpro v11.10.

I view the data sheet of TS59C11 /OKI MSM16911/AT59C11 . they are all the same.

Thanks for the reply, indeed, I should be able to program the chips with T56. What could be the issue that I cannot write the chips? The chips I have are new oldstock OKI 16911G and TS59C11.
update:
I was able to write an Atmel AT59C11. But the original 16911's that I have won't write the same goes for TS59C11. The OKI and TS are quite a bit older than the Atmel one. Eventough the chips are the same, could it be that there is some timing issue perhaps? Which chip did you test exactly?
If I read the datasheets correctly, Atmel's chip is from 1998, TS is from 1988. For the 16911 I could not find a date reference in the datasheets but I expect this could be late 1980s or early 1990s.
One difference that I could find is the max Clock Frequency. for AT59C11 that's 1MHz and for ST59C11 and MSM16911 that's 250KHz. There are also slight differences in the opcodes, it seems that AT59C11 is a bit more flexible than it's compatible counterparts.
